Welcome to the 180 Student Ministry at
First Baptist Church of Oneonta! The purpose of the FBC Oneonta Student Ministry is two-fold:
We challenge you to join us and get plugged into the exciting and dynamic things that are happening here at FBC Oneonta!
SUNDAY MORNINGS
On Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m., you can connect with a small group of your peers and classmates, along with a leader who will challenge you to learn new concepts about the Lord and grow spiritually to be equipped to stand your faith. Students are grouped into the following classes:
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS
Gather on Wednesday nights with all students at 6:30 p.m. for worship and Bible study as we focus on purpose of our ministry. The Gospel is presented every Wednesday night, so bring your unsaved friends who have not yet experienced the amazing saving grace of Christ our Lord.
![]() WHAT IS GOING ON NOW: A RADICAL EXPERIMENT!
180 Student Ministry is about to embark on a spiritual journey using Radical by David Platt. It is a three-fold journey. First, the students will be challenged and encouraged to read Radical. Second, during Sunday School, the students will engage in an eight-week Bible study diving deeper into themes of the book. Third, on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m., the 180 Message Series will be Radical: What Jesus Demands.
How can you be a part of this radical experiment? First, you will have the opportunity to purchases a copy of Radical for only $5. A reading guide will be provided to help parents read along with the students. Also, we will be telecasting the 180 Message Series in a separate room for adults. If you are involved in other ministries on Wednesday nights, no problem; we will post the series on the Internet. The reading plan began Palm Sunday, April 17. The 180 Message Series started on Wednesday, April 20, and the Bible Studies began Easter Sunday, April 24.
Click here for our RADICAL RESOURCES page that includes video of each session and a study guide.
MISSIONS
The Donation Station at FBC for the victims of the April 27 tornados has been officially closed. However, recovery efforts continue on a statewide basis and you can learn more at www.alsbom.org.
The Oneonta FBC Youth have opted to change their summer mission plans and instead help tornado victims in Alabama! They had originally planned to go to MissionLab in New Orleans, LA, and help there. Since there are so many people needing help right here at home in Alabama, the youth have chosen to change their plans and minister here. Kudos to Matt Scott and the FBC Youth for answering God's call to ministry here at home! We are all very proud of you and look forward to hearing about your missions experience at a special service on Sunday, July 10, at 6:00 p.m.
On the OFBC Disaster Response page on Facebook (link above), check out pictures of our youth responding to storm victims on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
If you have a student who is not currently involved in a church student ministry, FBC welcomes his or her involvement! Just contact Matt Scott at matt@oneontafbc.org to learn more about FBC Student Ministry!
